The stunning visuals of the new Dishonored 2 trailer was on display at the Bethseda public offering and the viewers were impressed. With a new setting and a new hero and the release of themed missions the gameplay is by all accounts fresh and captivating.
In this Dishonored sequel, players will still be returning to the Empire of the Isles, however the majority of the game will be in a totally new setting of Karnaca, the capital of the most a southern island in the Empire, Serkonos.
The game experience is driven by the Void Engine; built from scratch to support the rich signature art and level design from developer Arkane Software.
Choose Your Hero
It is 15 years after the first Dishonored and our old hero Corvo Attano returns in this sequel, however he is joined by his daughter Emily Kaldwin. Players can choose to play as either Emily or Corvo each with their own distinct supernatural powers.
With more customisable and enhanced upgrade paths for each characters powers the game play becomes even more varied and interesting.
"Emily’s Far Reach mobility power can be upgraded to allow you to steal objects from afar, or you can upgrade it to yank enemies toward you and take them out mid-air. All of the game’s supernatural powers give you different approaches" said the developers.
Also on show were a smattering of Emily's other powers
Domino:
Links together human targets, forcing them to share the same fate. In the demo, Emily set a trap, then used Domino to take out multiple foes in one blow.
Shadow Walk:
Allows Emily's character to sneak toward and disable a target undetected.
Mesmerize:
Enthrals several humans and/or hounds, allowing Emily to easily bypass or eliminate foes.
Dishonored 2 takes options and exploration to the next level with more varied choices and game play with more emphasis on big, interesting mission themes.
The game is expected for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 11, 2016.
